Equal 'Y' 

Description

Equal 'Y' fittings are designed to connect three PVC pipes together in a 120^o) configuration with the use of solvent weld cement.  No special tools are required.

Approvals

Solvent weld PVC fittings are generally manufactured in accordance with EN1452-3. 

Threaded PVC fittings are generally manufactured in accordance with BS21, DIN2999, ISO7.

All fittings have WRAS approval and are suitable for use with potable drinking water applications.

Pressure Rating

PVC 'Y' fittings have a pressure rating of 10 bar (145 psi) at 20^oC.

PVC threaded fittings (1/2" to 4") have a pressure rating of 12 bar (170 psi) at 20^oC

As temperature increases the pressure rating is reduced.  PVC systems should not be used where temperatures exceed 60^oC.

Sizing - Solvent Weld Pipe & Fittings

Metric PVC pipe is straightforward and is sized by its outside diameter. For example 32mm and 63mm pipes will have outside diameters of 32mm and 63mm respectively.

The inside diameter of the socket end of metric valves and fittings will be the same as the outside diameter of the corresponding pipe.
