Description
PVC Equal Socket Coupling (Imperial Solvent Weld)
The PVC Equal Socket is designed to join two imperial PVC pipes of the same diameter in a straight line, creating a strong, permanent connection when used with PVC solvent weld cement. Easy to install and requiring no specialist tools, these fittings are ideal for a wide range of plumbing, irrigation, water treatment, swimming pool, and industrial pipework applications.
Manufactured from high-quality PVC, these equal socket couplings offer excellent corrosion resistance, long service life, and reliable performance in both commercial and domestic installations.
Key Features
- Connects two imperial PVC pipes of the same size.
- Designed for use with PVC solvent weld cement.
- Quick and simple installation with no specialist tools required.
- Suitable for potable drinking water applications.
- Corrosion, chemical, and impact resistant.
- Ideal for plumbing, irrigation, pool, water treatment, and industrial systems.
Standards & Approvals
- Imperial solvent weld PVC fittings are manufactured in accordance with EN 1452-3.
- WRAS approved for use with potable drinking water.
Pressure Ratings
- Solvent Weld PVC Fittings (½" – 8"): 15 bar (215 psi) at 20°C.
- Threaded PVC Fittings (½" – 4"): 12 bar (170 psi) at 20°C.
Pressure ratings decrease as operating temperature increases. PVC pipe systems should not be used at temperatures above 60°C.
Imperial PVC Pipe Sizing
Imperial PVC pipe and fittings are sized using their nominal bore (approximate internal diameter). The socket of each fitting is manufactured to match the outside diameter of the corresponding imperial PVC pipe, ensuring a secure solvent weld connection.
| Pipe Size | ½" | ¾" | 1" | 1¼" | 1½" | 2" | 2½" | 3" | 4" |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Outside Diameter (mm) | 21.4 | 26.7 | 33.6 | 42.2 | 48.3 | 60.3 | 75.2 | 88.9 | 114.3 |
