PVC Metric x Imperial Adaptor Socket
The PVC Metric x Imperial Adaptor Socket is designed to connect metric PVC pipe to imperial PVC pipe in a straight run using solvent weld cement. It provides a secure, permanent and leak-free transition between the two pipe sizing systems, making it ideal for extending or modifying existing installations. No specialist tools are required, making installation quick and straightforward.

Manufacturing Standards & Approvals
- Solvent weld PVC fittings are manufactured in accordance with EN 1452-3.
- Threaded PVC fittings are generally manufactured in accordance with BS 21, DIN 2999 and ISO 7.
- All fittings are WRAS approved and suitable for use with potable drinking water.
Pressure Ratings
- Solvent Weld Fittings (1/2" to 8"): 15 bar (215 psi) at 20°C.
- Threaded Fittings (1/2" to 4"): 12 bar (170 psi) at 20°C.
- Pressure ratings decrease as the operating temperature increases.
- Maximum recommended operating temperature: 60°C.
Metric PVC Pipe Sizing
Metric PVC pipe is sized by its outside diameter (OD). For example, a 32mm pipe has an outside diameter of 32mm, and a 63mm pipe has an outside diameter of 63mm.

Imperial PVC Pipe Sizing
Imperial PVC pipe and fittings are sized by their nominal bore (NB) rather than the outside diameter. The socket of the fitting is manufactured to suit the outside diameter of the corresponding imperial pipe.

Installation: For the strongest and most reliable joint, clean the pipe and fitting thoroughly before applying a suitable PVC solvent cement. Allow the joint to cure in accordance with the solvent cement manufacturer's recommendations before pressurising the system.
